Gay Grand Canyon Rafting: A Trip Of A Lifetime

25 01 2010

Gay Grand Canyon tours are for those who live life to the fullest and who want an awesome adventure that they will never forget. It is once in a lifetime opportunity that you should take if you want to see the beauty of the Grand Canyon in its entirety.

By the time we reached our first destination, the Grand Canyon, our butts were sore and our eyes burned from being awake for so long in one day. We stopped off in Page, Arizona for a slight breather before continuing on to the Canyon. Let me be the one to say, it was a breath taking sight to see.

Kali Gandaki in Nepal is deeper, while Capertu Valley in Australia is about 1 km. Longer. Nearly 5 million people go to visit the canyon per year which is why they now have enforced a law that requires anyone who has traveled down the river within a single year may only do it once. If you wish to go again, the traveler must wait an entire year before going again.

There are so many things to see from hidden water falls to old native villages hidden within the back parts of the canyon. After all you are on one million acres of land. With so many opportunities for exploration the Grand Canyon brings the explorer out while in safe and capable hands of the guides who have been on this river for more than 75 years.

While camping things to look out for; there are muskrats that live in the area however they are extremely rare. One might come across a beaver or antelope squirrels. You will be able to see loads of pocket mice. And at night a distant howl of a coyote is common.

There are spotted skunks to look out for as well as raccoons and weasels. Although rare to the area a mountain lion may roam into the national park from time to time. The California Condor makes its home among the cliffs of the canyon as well as Bald Eagles during the winter months. And every so often one might see a black bear roaming along the river bank looking for a tasty meal.

It is the lazy man’s way of seeing the canyon with no rapids but a great view. If you do decide to take a gay Grand Canyon rafting tour, there are three kinds of boats you can travel on. You can take the motor boat which is as I put it before the lazy man’s way. Imagine if you will boating on a lake for fishing. The guides take you only on the smoothest course. You can go with the oars, in which case the guide rows while you hang on.

If I had the money I would do the full adventure down the Colorado River. I would experience first hand the rapids and absorb all that nature throws at me. Even though the Grand Canyon is a national park it has had problems with air pollution the problem has been partly resolved. But the effects of man’s presence in the canyon makes me wonder just what it looked like so long ago and what it will look like should man continue to be destructive. This is one sight I would hate to see blocked because of pollution factors. So lets keep it clean. Try to respect the land. After all it took mother nature 17 million years to create it.

Out Travel In Ireland

17 01 2010

Ireland has been a popular destination for out travel at least since the time of Oscar Wilde, although in those days it was not necessarily a friendly country for the LGBT community. Like Wilde, many people were jailed or sent away for hard labor for what was legally termed “indecency” and, until 1861, acts of sodomy were even punishable by death, but Ireland has come a long way since these dark days, decriminalizing same-sex sexual behavior in 1993 and legalizing civil unions in 2009.

While this does not mean that this largely Catholic country is ready to embrace same-sex relationships in every village – or even every city – Ireland is now far more welcoming and can safely be considered a great place for gay travel. Several larger cities, including Dublin, Galway, Cork and Waterford, have visible, active communities, community celebrations, numerous establishments catering or welcoming to the community and plenty of attractions to fill an entire vacation; however, whether travelers choose to participate in solo travel or gay tours, one should not miss the Irish countryside and quaint, traditional villages that dot the verdant landscape or sit atop breathtaking coastal cliffs during their vacation to Ireland as well.

Although many cities in Ireland now have community hangouts, organizations, annual community celebrations and an active LGBT community, Dublin reigns supreme as the center of Ireland’s LGBT scene, making it a must-do for anyone planning gay travel here. Dublin’s nightlife is a blend of both casual pubs and high-class clubs – some even with dress codes – which offers folks on gay vacations the opportunity to experience vastly different aspects of the local community. Dublin is also well known for a variety of community festivals held throughout the year, which include the Dublin Gay Theatre Festival in May, Dublin International LGBTQ Pride in June, and the Dublin Lesbian and Gay Film Festival in July.

There is always something going on in Dublin, on either a small or large scale, so it is a good idea to pick up a copy of GNC, Ireland’s main community magazine, when you arrive in town. There are many must-see attractions when partaking in gay travel in Dublin, including the Guinness Storehouse, the Old Jameson Distillery, the Hugh Lane Gallery, the Book of Kells, the Oscar Wilde House Museum and Dublin’s quintessential LGBT bar, The George.

Folks planning gay tours to Ireland should consider partaking in gay tours to ensure that they do not miss out on the plethora of historical, cultural and natural attractions that this intriguing, romantic nation has to offer.

Gay Retreats

2 01 2010

Life can be absolutely stressful, full of chaos, and can even wear us down at times.  While this is one of the big reasons many people choose to take a vacation, heading to one of the gay retreats offered throughout the country and across the globe can be even more beneficial to you.  You will be welcomed into a kind and loving environment that will help you flourish as a person.  You will gain a better understanding of who you are.

One of the big things that gay retreats teach you is meditation.  Meditation has gained a reputation over the years of being a form of prayer.  Mainly due to its roots in Buddhism and people’s misunderstandings of the religion, people think Buddhists who are meditating are praying to the Buddha.  On the contrary, though, meditation is simply awareness.  While, again, this relates to Buddhism as Buddhists are always on the path to self awareness, you can take these lessons and apply them to your spiritual and personal life.

To help learn this special skill, many gay retreats offer meditation instructors to help guide you while you first are learning.  Once you understand the philosophies and methods behind it, it can easily be practiced anywhere, lending you a technique to help lower your stress in everyday life.  You’ll learn what to think about, or to simply be aware of, while meditating and the proper position for your body to be in.  While the idea of awareness may sound bizarre at first, it can help you clear your body and reach an inside calm like you’ve never experienced.  To Buddhists, the mind is a wild horse.  Through meditation, it can be tamed.

Gay retreats aren’t simply a place to learn meditation, either.  There are many different types of retreats and each features a series of workshops with an idea in mind.  From yoga to erotic and sensual massage, a retreat can be the perfect place to find relaxation and learn new skills that can broaden your lifestyle.  And often, you can gain many lifelong friends along the way as well.  Retreats bring people together and make you closer to yourself.  You’ll have a deeper connection with your partner and those who shared the path with you.  People from all walks of life and all age groups are often in attendance, letting you learn from people with very different backgrounds.  Don’t you think it’s time to see what a gay retreat can offer you?

Gay Holiday Sites In Ecuador

30 12 2009

Although a small country, Ecuador boasts a wide array of geographic and cultural diversity, including a variety of indigenous groups with distinctive cultures and languages. From snow-capped volcanoes and rainforests to tropical shorelines, Ecuador has varying landscapes and climates, making it wonderful for gay destinations or exciting adventures a great idea any time of the year.

Perhaps best known for the Galapagos Islands, the mainland is also home to many attractions and sightseeing opportunities that make gay tours to Ecuador well worth the trip. Whether you are in search of a spiritual retreat, an outdoors adventure or gay travel that includes getting to know the LGBT community in Quito, exploring the rainforest and lounging on the beach, you are sure to discover the many reasons that Ecuador is such a popular travel destination year after year as soon as you step off the plane.

Quito is the main city where you will find an LGBT community, particularly in the bohemian neighborhood of La Mariscal. This is where the Quito Pride celebration is held each June and is home to the various community nightspots, cafs and friendly establishments that Quito has on offer. As for nightlife, La Mariscal is the place to party on Friday and Saturday nights, but is also a wonderful afternoon hangout any day of the week.

Aside from La Mariscal, this city that sits at 9,200 feet above sea level, yet still lower than the nearby Pichincha volcano that rises to 13,000 feet, has much to offer, including streets lined with cafs, art galleries and shops, and a historic district that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Local attractions include the Capilla del Hombre Guayasamin, the Museo de la Ciudad, the Centro de Arte Contemporaneo and the many stalls of handicrafts in the Parque el Ejido.

Since the late 1990s, legal rights have expanded in Ecuador with protections that make a gay vacation to this beautiful country safer and more enjoyable. However, discretion in public is still a good idea in many places, particularly due to the high level of machismo the still permeates the culture. Those who are considering gay vacations to Ecuador may want to take advantage of pre-arranged gay tours, which allow for a higher level of security and a focus on fun, while travel professionals manage logistical aspects of the voyage and ensure that you will not miss out on some of the most appealing cultural, historic and natural attractions that Ecuador has to offer.

This will allow you to relax and get the most out of your journey, while professional travel organizers take care of the logistics and ensure that you will have the chance to experience the many historic, cultural and natural attractions that Ecuador offers.

How To Plan A Gay Vacation In Bali

22 12 2009

Travelers in search of a gay vacations destination offering a variety of historical, spiritual and cultural sites, welcoming residents and a plethora of things to see and do, should consider Bali for their next vacation.

Participating in gay tours or solo gay vacations to Bali allows LGBT travelers to experience all that Bali has to offer, including temples, pristine beaches, beautiful rice fields, excellent cuisine, volcanoes, world-class shopping and even LGBT scenes in some major cities. From upscale hotels and trendy boutiques, to rural villages with old-world buildings and artisan handicrafts, Bali is an intriguing, diverse island nation just waiting to be explored.

Legian, Kuta and Seminyak each has an active scene, including several spas, bars, clubs and restaurants catering to LGBT clientele, which allows travelers to choose from a wide array of nighttime hangouts and entertainment options for a night out on the town. Drag shows are quite popular in Bali and many clubs offer performances at least a few nights each week, the most popular being Hulu Caf, which is famous for being the original hotspot for drag shows and offers six nights of shows each week, many of which include performers that are internationally known.

Gay travel to Bali may also include some of Bali’s beachfront and garden restaurant and spa establishments, which offer food, drinks, massage and other spa services in a natural setting. Bonita’s and Callego Caf & Spa, located in Seminyak, are the most popular. The Callego Caf & Spa is a very popular community hangout located on Petitenget Beach.

While there are no exclusively LGBT beaches, Petitenegret is frequented by travelers on gay vacations and is very popular with the community, particularly the area around Callego Caf & Spa. Cruising occurs in the nearby wooded area, and Callego is a very popular hangout. Other popular beaches include Ganesha in Seminyak and Blue Ocean Beach in Kata.

If you are considering gay travel to Bali, either as a spiritual journey or an exotic vacation that allows you to explore this beautiful country while experiencing the LGBT community in a foreign land, you may want to consider participating in gay tours to Bali.

One of the best ways to experience Bali is to participate in gay tours, which are a great way to make new friends, take in some of Bali’s most important historical and cultural sites and allow well-versed travel professionals who regularly organize gay vacations to take care of the logistics of the trip for you. This will allow you to focus on getting the most from your travel experience and to create lifelong memories, while avoiding dealing with the more mundane aspects of trip planning.

Advice About Mongolia And Gay Travel

21 12 2009

With a barely existent gay scene, is gay travel to Mongolia a good idea? Despite little knowledge and a practically invisible LGBT community, Mongolia offers incredible views, outdoor activities and vibrant culture that may appeal to all travelers, gay or straight. Homosexuality is legal and the unique experience of Mongolia makes it a great destination for gay couples and groups.

Mongolia is sparsely populated, leaving plenty of room for the beautiful lakes, majestic mountains and flowing rivers for which the country is often known. Mongolia boasts a unique history as the Mongols and Genghis Khan once ruled powerfully, only for the country to later fall under Soviet grasps.

With beautiful landscapes and cultural experiences, Mongolia can be a popular destination for gay travelers despite its not being known for an open gay scene.

It is best to start your journey in Ulaanbaatar, where guesthouses typically serve as travel agencies that can help you plan your trip. It is best to travel into the capital and spend several days planning your countrywide excursions. There is an international airport, but consider taking the train from Beijing in order to view the beautiful countryside.

Guesthouses are the best place to stay as they offer cheap accommodation (roughly twenty U. S. Dollars per night) and also act as travel agencies that can help you to draw up an itinerary.

Both shorter and longer stays are possible and enjoyable within Mongolia. If you have only one to two weeks, consider heading to the ancient capital city of Kharakorum or going north for visits to the mountains and beautiful lakes. If learning about Mongolian culture interests you, think about participating in a family home stay where you will see everyday life in the country. You can do this near to the Terelj National Park where outdoor activities abound and the Gobi Desert is a mere two hours away.

Longer stays of a month or longer are ideal for a big loop of the country to include the aforementioned destinations all in one trip.

While in Ulaanbaatar, you will want to see the Natural History Museum and The Culture Show, which include the spectacular talent of Mongolia’s National Symphony Orchestra. Also be sure to find traditional Mongolian fare on the cheap at places like Mongol Shabu.

While Mongolia may be an incredible, off the beaten path destination for gay couples and groups, homosexuality is not necessarily received well. There are few religious barriers to it; however, a general lack of gay context leaves a general sense of naivet on the subject.

There are other options available besides traveling on your own. Various tour groups, specializing in gay travel groups, offer vacations in Mongolia.

These groups offer a wide range of services, including itineraries that hit the most popular tourist attractions. They offer destinations for outdoors lovers and culture enthusiasts by bringing visitors to local camel farms, national parks, horseback riding and the Gobi Desert. Cultural activities like festivals and visits to the ancient capital city offer sites of interest to most travelers.

These groups typically incorporate some LGBT excursions to community groups and whatever gay scene may exist. With a wide range of activities, their itineraries make up for a lack of a gay scene by offering something for everybody.

Unique Gay Travel In Switzerland

21 12 2009

Considered as potential market in recent issue for tourism, gay tourists are finding their way towards contributing revenue in the destination market. So the reason why gay travel to Switzerland will give you the hint of why is this such.

Switzerland is considered as one of the most spectacular countries in Europe. Although it may look a small country in the map, it surely possesses remarkable places to explore. No wonder why most tourists decide as to spending their holiday there. What is more surprising is the number of gay tourist also taking those special cruises especially intended for them. Indeed potential for generating revenue, isn’t it?  They have that circle bus to depart from Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, Prague, Vienna and also Amsterdam. Pricing ranges only under $100.00 up to $3,000.00 and above.

Can you now conclude their population to be generating market revenue? That is the record for Switzerland tourism alone.

Some important landscapes can be seen in Switzerland. Like that Alps covered with snows, those villages in the side of the mountains, the picturesque of real beauty indeed including that pristine valleys. Oh! I think no one can resist its splendor. A trained tour guides who are also gays will clarify tourist about the Swiss culture and will lead them to great places which they craved for seeing.

Gays can already enjoy the journey without judgments with their lifestyles. They can familiarize themselves because they will be travelling with the same gender as them. Try to ask somebody who’s been to different gay travels and their story would be happy ones. Why not read about gay journeys in Switzerland and you will be given options where you will want to go. That tours are actually treated as gay-friendly.

During in the year 1970, this subject about gays has offered many opinions. Some accepted homosexuals and find them to be great companion but others discriminate them asking questions that are sometimes too personal for them to answer. As such, this anti-discriminatory was presented. It gave them the respect they longed from other people. However, the law will not suffice to reason if someone would look at them in disgust. So it does not assure them. Yet that are unavoidable in life. No one can be forced to respect unless they so want. In this society we live, people can still look at gays with image that are not equal to those that are males and females in general.

As such, gay tours have been opted like in Switzerland. Gays can now feel the real enjoyment of traveling and spending their holiday. There won’t surely be nicer than having a vacation that you are comfortable and safe because you are around the people who understand your preference.

Yes, this is the result for their pursuit of wanting to have their own tours. It gave them the freedom of traveling. They won’t anymore have the complications that they will find the need to hide themselves in the crowd. Cultures about sexuality maybe taboo. Yet, this does not prohibit the individual to enjoy if they wanted to give themselves the delight for vacation. And this, I can assure, that gay tours to Switzerland will be such a good idea.

Gay Travel To Denmark

20 12 2009

There are a few good reasons why it pays to plan for gay travel to Denmark and of course the main reason is that this Scandinavian nation offers its gays virtually the same rights as are available to straight Danes. In fact, gays in Denmark have some pretty extensive rights and Danes too themselves are permissive and will not look too unkindly at people with gay leanings.

Danish gays can even join the military and according to Danish law, hate crimes are banned and this means that you cannot commit crimes against gays. In the year 1989, Denmark legalized same sex marriages and the Danish Parliament or Folketinget has even discussed subjects such as same sex unions and artificially inseminating lesbian and it also discussed giving gay couples the right to adopt children. So, there are many good reasons to plan gay tours to Denmark.

Copenhagen is of course the capital of not only Denmark but it is also the capital city for gay activities in Denmark. So, it will not be difficult for you to find the gay locales in this very vibrant capital city of Denmark and if you want some help you should buy the guidebook called Lonely Planet that will describe the gay scene in Copenhagen as being one of the liveliest in the whole of Europe.

Copenhagen that is also often referred to as the fairy city has a vibrant gay life that is quite widespread. There are in fact some very steamy dark rooms where gays gravitate to including the Body Bio sex club and also the LBL-Ungdom gay youth group and in addition there is also the annual Pride festival that draws many gays who come and stay in the hotels and restaurants owned almost entirely by gays. In addition, Copenhagen also holds the Queer Festival and then there is the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival that too attract many gays.

Most gays that live in Copenhagen tend to stay in the old part of the city where there is much to entertain the gays including fun and entertainment that is centered in just a single square kilometer of the city. About 80 years ago, Copenhagen saw its first gay bar that thrives today even though many other bars and cafes catering to gays have sprung up in the intervening years.

Some examples of what you can get here if you are a gay include the Body Bio sex club and then there is also the LBL-Ungdom gay youth group as well as the Queer Festival and there is even a Gay and Lesbian Film Festival that is very popular among gays.

The Copenhagen Pride Festival is held in Copenhagen annually in the month of August and this is an event that attracts numerous gays from other Scandinavian countries as well as from different parts of the world.

The bottom line is that if you are planning for gay tours to Denmark then you should focus your attention to paying a visit to the gay part of Copenhagen where there are virtually limitless events to take part in that will keep you well satisfied.

Gay Tantra

20 12 2009

When you look at sex how do you see it? Is it just an act you have to do to keep the husband happy? For gay couples, is it something you just need because you are that horny? That is how many Americans now view what was a precious act. That is why there is this need for gay tantra. We often confuse what sex should be.

When you ask couples how long it takes for an orgasm, the results might shock you. They get straight to the point or straight to the core. That is what sex is becoming and is especially true in a homosexual relationship. That is why a new form of sex therapy is being introduced. It is called gay tantra.

In many cases in every couple with their sex life, we are so not tuned into what they need. For many gay couples, doctors who deal with these individuals who have problems with their sex life say this is the reason that many need help. They need to learn how to recreate that feeling of the body touching the body and this is what tantra does.

While many think that this system is to help you learn to orgasm that is not the intention at all. The actual intention is to make couples learn what the other needs to reach that state of full completeness during intercourse. If this is not achieved, then other problems could arise in the relationship. Gay couples have found that as they are so eager to please he world who shun them, they are not so eager to please their partner. Tantra helps them with this.

As we have said, tantra is powerful and it works. It works so well that people in the United States are swearing by this. They are attending workshops and retreats to learn how to fulfill the power of the tantra. What was something that is so old to another country is so very new to the United States.

If you are looking to begin by yourself, you can do that as well. They have tons of resources such as videos and books for you to learn with your partner. They even have workshops that will teach you how to do this. That is how popular this is becoming.

So, just who recommends it? Believe it or not, some people that you adore celebrity wise swear by this new technique. Even sex experts who deal with spiritual healing have been known to advise using this technique. It has worked to bring couples closer and create a relationship that is not just about sex, but about fulfilling one anothers dreams. This is what it means to fulfill the tantra. It is putting your needs last, stop thinking about what the world tells, you, and becoming one with one another. Now, that does not seem so bad after all. Now does it? They are great positions that give you double the pleasure. There is just so much to do with this loving technique.

As one can see, gay tantra has been seen to be a blessing. If this is something that you have been dealing with maybe the tantra is calling to you. Learn to become one and learn to please one another. Quit pleasing the world. Tantra is for everyone. Try it today and see what it can help you achieve.

Discover Your Self On A Gay Travel Spiritual Adventure

12 12 2009

Gay tourists go on vacation for an array of purposes, including the chance to see new things, meet interesting people, learn about different cultures, get away from everyday stressors for a short time, or make new memories with special people in their lives. Every trip has a purpose, even if the reason is just to get away and lounge on the beach without worrying about the everyday cares and worries back home.

In the realm of purposeful travel, gay spirituality vacations are one option that includes the desire to rejuvenate and relax, but goes beyond that to include specific awareness and intentions. Vacations are most often taken with the intent of getting away from it all; however, travelers who opt for spiritual travel actually plan on truly arriving in their destination and partaking in a mutually beneficial exchange with the people, land and energy in the area.

Gay travel can include couple’s retreats that focus on parallel growth and reconnection, conscious travel that is undertaken alone, or spiritual journeys in the company of like-minded travelers as part of an organized group to destinations around the world, such as Mexico, the American Southwest, Egypt, Peru, Thailand, India or New Zealand.

Gay spiritual vacations taken as a solo pilgrimage are certainly one option; however, opting for a professionally arranged conscious travel opportunity with a like-minded group of travelers can greatly enhance the experience you have while on your journey, and can enhance the spiritual growth or awakening that occurs. Professional travel groups that organize spiritual travel opportunities have the knowledge and experience necessary to provide a meaningful voyage that will be a truly remarkable experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Conscious travel vacations journey to sacred sites, offer fantastic group activities and organize the logistics of the trip, allowing you to solely focus on the personal journey and spiritual growth you seek. Tour experts have forged strong relationships with locals in various destinations, which allows tour participants to experience and see things that are not available to individual travelers or those on typical vacations.

Participants in group spiritual travel have the distinct opportunity to connect with like-minded travelers that are also seeking a spiritual awakening, renewal or reconnection. This allows you to participate in shared group activities, learn from each other’s experiences, share your story with people who have a deeper understanding and ability to relate, discuss experiences that you are having while on this specific journey and forge new friendships that will last a lifetime.

If you are in search of a purposeful, meaningful journey that focuses on having a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience that begins with the intention of personal growth and spiritual centering, you may want to consider conscious travel options when planning your next vacation. Going on a spiritual journey is an important part of self care and gives you the opportunity to reorganize your concerns and priorities, refocus your life and return to your everyday life feeling refreshed and centered.

Treat yourself to the opportunity to partake in a personal voyage focused on reflecting on your past experiences, learning to live in the moment and discovering ways to nourish your soul for a centered spiritual life. Participating in intentional travel is a fulfilling experience that can change your life and allows you to return home with the tools and intention of living every day centered, focused and aware.

What Makes A Spirit Journey Different

15 11 2009

Typically a gay vacation involves no conscious purpose other than to “get away”. Gay travel with Spirit Journeys involves conscious travel to a place that is often sacred in nature and usually with a specific spiritual intention. Most Spirit Journeyers return home with more than they came with, having gained some personal insight from the places they have visited. The places we visit can be natural wonders like Monument Valley or man-made like Teotihuacan. Wherever we go, we go with the intention of connecting to the place and/or the people there. This connecting allows us to learn about ourselves, not just about the places we visit. Travel with a group of gay men and women that have the same general purpose adds to the intensity of travel with Spirit Journeys. Not only do we learn from the places we visit, we also learn from those that travel with us.

What Is Conscious Gay Travel

15 11 2009

On typical gay vacations or gay travel, the only purpose is to “get away”; to escape. In contrast, the purpose of conscious travel is to “arrive” and connect wholeheartedly with a specific spot and/or people on this planet. The places visited usually have some historical, mystical or spiritual significance. These places can be natural wonders like Sedona or the Grand Canyon, while others are man-made like a Buddhist temple or the Mexican pyramids. Also, some places become important simply due to the human-aura or energy that is inherent from thousands, or even millions, of people bringing themselves and their intentions to that particular place.

At Spirit Journeys, conscious travel means we slow down and bring ourselves into the present moment. It means we stop thinking about “what’s for lunch” and start to pay attention to what is around us. It means we stop seeing things only on the surface and start to look for underlying meanings and feelings. It means we try to experience more from our heart and less from our thinking mind. It’s kind of like taking a vacation with a “stop and smell the roses” attitude.

Most participants return home from conscious travel adventures with more than they arrived with, having gained some sort of personal gift by making contact with the magic and mystery of the places and people encountered.

A Gay Vacation To India

8 11 2009

India is a country with many distinguishing characteristics and has plenty to offer all kinds of travelers. From pristine coastlines to snow-covered Himalayas, and all of the diverse terrain between the two, India gay adventure travel offers abundant opportunities to relax or partake in amazing adventures. India has long been a center for spirituality and important advancements in natural medicine, making a gay vacation to India the perfect option for those in search of the opportunity to center themselves, rejuvenate their spiritual side and refocus on the things that really matter in life.

The multidimensional character of India also allows for gay vacations that focus on exploring sacred, historical and cultural sites, trekking through untouched wilderness, shopping in traditional bazaars and high-end boutiques, indulging in delicious cuisine or learning about life in a rural village.

Folks on a gay vacation in India will likely find that it can be a challenge to locate visible LGBT communities, even in large metropolitan areas. Of course, there are some identifiable gathering and cruising spots, mostly in urban cities. An important step towards equality was taken in 2009 when the Delhi High Court voted to overturn a 148-year-old law that defined same-sex sexual activity as a punishable act under “carnal intercourse against the order of nature.” This law has been on the books since the time of British colonial rule and is still enforced throughout India. While Delhi no longer includes same-sex relations under this law, it is still used in the majority of the country to occasionally prosecute both gay and straight people and can result in punishments that include high fines and imprisonment, up to a life sentence.

Activists are being diligent about changing these old laws and folks on gay vacation packages are very unlikely to face issues regarding this law; however, it is still important to be aware of it. The community and government have mixed feelings about the LGBT community; however, there is a steady movement toward acceptance, making India a gay travel destination that is always increasing in popularity.

Same-sex relationships may still hold a taboo status in much of India, but this has not stopped this beautiful, diverse country from being a highly popular destination for gay vacations, and LGBT travelers typically report no issues during their gay holidays in India. One way to ensure that your India gay vacation is a fulfilling, safe, remarkable trip is to arrange to take part in a tour organized by a trustworthy, well-established company that is experienced in providing exceptional trips and tours catering to LGBT folks.

When you choose to take part in an organized gay tour group, you are taking an important step in ensuring that your trip to India will be full of opportunities to take in the country’s most amazing attractions, awaken your spirituality at important sacred sites, experience life-changing moments and create lifelong memories.

Gay Travel Advice And Tips For Egypt

27 10 2009

In many ways, Egypt is one big museum featuring numerous sites of religious, cultural and historical importance. Gay vacations and tours to Egypt can include everything from browsing open-air souks, cruising down the Nile, visiting old-world temples, exploring ancient cities, trekking across the desert on a camel and standing in awe of the Great Pyramids of Giza, to shopping in modern, cosmopolitan cities and lounging on white sand beaches. From the burial tombs at Valley of Kings or exploring the Temple at Edfu, to shopping for textiles in the Khan al Khalili Bazaar or touring the treasures of King Tutankhamun in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, there is truly no end to all that Egypt has to offer. For those looking for a gay vacation to Africa, Egypt is an excellent choice that is sure to please anyone looking for an exciting destination for gay travel.

While Egypt is a great destination for gay vacations, there are some points of interest to members of the LGBT community. The Egyptian government has become more aggressive in its efforts to arrest and imprison gay men in recent years, including a very public trial of over 50 men arrested on a boat hosting a night club in 2001 and several undercover sting operations in gathering spots, online chat rooms and other venues, which have led to arrests and imprisonment.

Most of these efforts have been aimed at arresting Egyptian men; however, in some instances women and tourists have also been included. One of the most publicized cases of a sting operation that led to numerous arrests and imprisonment was the 2001 raid of the Queen Boat, which resulted in the arrest of over 50 men.

That being said, this does not at all mean that Egypt should be avoided when it comes to gay travel, or that visitors will be confronted with constant homophobia from locals. In contrast, most travelers who have taken Egyptian gay vacations have found the locals to be welcoming and warm, and have reported no issues with the police or government during their stay. While there is no real, visible LGBT community in most parts of the country, there are well-known gathering places in Luxor, Alexandria, Dahab, Aswan, Cairo and other larger cities. Of course, discretion is important when visiting local hotspots, since the police force is also aware of these hangouts.

Egypt is a land of mystery with several must-see historical and cultural attractions. To experience some of the best offerings of Egypt, while also helping to ensure a safe trip without hassles, those seeking a gay vacation to Egypt should consider taking in this intriguing country as part of a gay travel tour, or at the very least, going through a travel agency that is aware of issues of concern to the LGBT community and is able to provide the information necessary for safe, fulfilling gay vacations to Egypt.

Gay Travel to Costa Rica

20 10 2009

With the spreading acceptance of gay culture and the gay lifestyle, many tourist organizations and locations have sought to reach out to the gay community with clubs, hotels, bars and other attractions that cater specifically to them. Costa Rica is one of many regions which has chosen to do so, and gay travel to this wonderful country is now one of the most rapidly expanding subsections of the local tourist market. As such, those who are interested in gay vacations here have a great variety of options to choose from.

Though Costa Rica was somewhat indifferent or hostile towards gays as recently as the late 90s, the large amount of tourist dollars, not to mention the fact that they are generally well behaved tourists who don’t destroy property or vandalize buildings. As such, in recent years, there has been a great effort to build gay-friendly bars, hotels, and other meeting places. The vast majority of these places are located in San Jose or Manuel Antonio, which are also the largest cities on the island. There are also a number of older (forty years old and up) gays who have chosen to settle in Costa Rica, purchasing various houses and other properties in the area. This offers unique opportunities to gays visiting Costa Rica, not to mention the fact that many of the bars are becoming increasingly gay-themed and gay-friendly properties.

Like many formerly conservative areas, it is advisable that gays who are visiting Costa Rica keep to themselves when vacationing there. Though the police and many other organizations have sided strongly with the tourists, there have been a number of incidents. While none of them have led to outright violence or death, the natural tendency towards machismo and confrontation found in some of the native Costa Ricans (especially after a few drinks) means that gay visitors are more likely to stick with the gay friendly resorts and areas.

Those interested in gay vacations to Costa Rica should remember that it is subject to different rules and regulations than the United States, and that they should be familiar with those laws. However, many laws remain the same. For example, the United States and Costa Rica have a similar stance on many controlled substances, and both nations have the age of consent set at eighteen. Also, both nations have outlawed prostitution. Gay vacationers should also be aware that there are high levels of HIV and other STDs in Costa Rica, and use appropriate protection.

Gay Travel To France

18 10 2009

Whether traveling to France on a trip across Europe, or visiting this popular country as your vacation destination, travelers will find magnificent beaches, alpine resorts, breathtaking countryside with quaint villages and medieval castles, world-renowned art collections, the glorious French Riviera and the truly unique, exceptional city of Paris.

While gay travel to France often is focused around Paris and its vibrant LGBT community, cultural and historical landmarks and accepting cosmopolitan environment, visitors will find that throughout France there is plenty to do and see, as well as many LGBT establishments and a welcoming atmosphere. Laws outlawing sodomy were abolished over 200 years ago and France’s LGBT community has enjoyed civil unions for the last decade. With legal protections in place and a general laissez-faire attitude that is common among the French, visitors will find that France provides an accepting, safe haven for gay vacations.

Numerous community events take place across the country throughout the year, including several pride festivals and a very well-attended pride parade and festival and gay and lesbian film festival in Paris. Some unique establishments to check out while in Paris on a gay vacation include the Marais district LGBT-owned bakery, Legay Choc; the ArtMenParis exhibit of all-male images; and Madame Arthur, L’Artishow and Chez Michou, three cabarets with female impersonators and drag shows. Paris nightlife is lively, with bars open from afternoon until 2am and clubs opening at midnight, and often staying open until noon.

For men who are interested in experiencing the bawdier side of Parisian life, sex clubs, cruising spots and bars with backrooms are easy to find for visitors on gay vacations. Paris is also home to a plethora of saunas, also known as bathhouses, which are popular attractions for both locals and visitors. Saunas are not open 24-hours in France and do not have private rooms to rent. For privacy, visitors can enjoy relaxation cubicles and out-of-towners should keep in mind that going to a sauna is a primarily afternoon activity in Paris, with Sunday afternoons being the most crowded.

While most gay travel destinations cater largely to men, women will find that Paris has a lively lesbian scene that includes everything from a lesbian walking group to a sex shop just for the girls. The Marais district is the center of LGBT life in Paris, and women will find a distinct Sapphic presence there, with bars and clubs that are located mostly at the south end. Ladies will also find several venues sprinkled throughout other neighborhoods, such as the Halles-Beaubourg, Palais Royal, Grands Boulevards and Saint Germain des Pres districts. There is also a bookshop in the Bastille-Republique district and one of the oldest lesbian bars in the city is located in the Palais Royal area.

Although Paris might be the most visited gay vacation destination in France, many other options are available throughout the country, including Avignon in Provence, Montpellier and Nice on the Mediterranian coast, Annecy in the Alps, Nantes in Brittany and the nude community beaches of Camargue. For those who hope to rub elbows with the rich and famous, Saint Tropez on the French Riviera should not be missed, while those looking for a romantic retreat might opt for an LGBT-owned B & B outside of Bourdeaux. With so many gay travel options to choose from, France is truly an ideal setting for a gay vacation.

Cologne is picturesquely positioned on the Rhine River and is the oldest large city in Germany. It is the home of the famous Cologne Cathedral, Kolsch beer, and a vibrant arts and culture scene that draw travelers from all over the world to experience this grand city’s rich history and jovial residents. This welcoming community has no problem with couples of all sorts showing affection in public and has a well-established, highly visible LGBT population. Bhutan and the Gay Traveler

18 09 2009

The nation of Bhutan is a tiny Buddhist kingdom tucked into the remote Himalayas between India and Tibet. Here, visitors will discover a rich way of life that has only recently begun to be exposed to modern mindsets and Western culture. This devoutly Buddhist country is home to a distinct culture that is based on age-old Buddhist beliefs and practices and maintains a solid footing in tradition. The government of Bhutan monitors tourism closely as national leaders work hard to protect the cultural heritage and pristine natural beauty of Bhutan, balanced with allowing the adoption of modern technologies and conveniences to enhance the lives of the Bhutanese people.

To this end, the number of tour groups and tourists allowed to visit Bhutan each year is limited. While Bhutanese culture is very conservative and traditional, the warm, friendly Bhutanese people welcome gay travel tours and visitors on gay vacations, just as they would any other guest to their country. Due to the limited tourism allowed, anyone who has the opportunity to travel to this mystical mountain kingdom should take full advantage of experiencing all that the country of Bhutan has to offer.

Bhutan has no LGBT scene to speak of; therefore, a gay vacation planned to this magnificent mountain kingdom would certainly not be planned with the intent of experiencing a distinct LGBT community or visiting LGBT establishments. Of course, this is not to say that same-gender behaviors and relationships do not occur. These activities are actually common and accepted and there is a significant amount of bisexual sexual behavior practiced among Bhutanese men.

Most of these men are either married to women or are monastic monks and these behaviors are not considered taboo, and do not influence how one identifies. In fact, there are no words to describe sexual orientation in this region’s language; sexual expression is simply part of everyday life. A law from over 100 years ago is still on the books that criminalizes same-sex sexual behavior and allows for punishments that include life imprisonment; however, there are no indications that this law has ever been enforced.

Gay travel to Bhutan allows an opportunity to experience a culture that is largely untouched by the outside world and is the ideal setting for a spiritual awakening or renewal. From hiking to visiting monasteries and exploring ancient villages, Bhutan gay vacations are unlike anything you will experience anywhere else in the world.

To truly experience Bhutan, visit this majestic land as part of an organized tour, which will ensure that you have the opportunity to fully discover this beautiful, spiritual country, while respecting the local culture and traditions.
